The homemade brownie is one of those desserts that always succeeds. With its soft, chocolatey interior and its crunchy top layer, it's a classic that you can easily prepare at home with few ingredients. Here I share a quick and simple recipe so you can enjoy a delicious brownie in just a few steps.

Ingredients for the homemade brownie

  • 200 g of dark chocolate (better if it's 70% cocoa)
  • 125 g of butter
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 125 g of wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 50 g of chopped walnuts or almonds (optional)

Step by step to prepare the homemade brownie

  1. Melt the chocolate and butter
In a microwave-safe bowl or in a pot over low heat, melt the 200 g of dark chocolate together with the 125 g of butter. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and let it cool slightly.
  2. Beat the eggs and sugar
In a large bowl, mix the 3 eggs with the 200 g of sugar until the mixture is well combined. There's no need to beat too much, just until well mixed.
  3. Add the melted chocolate
Incorporate the cooled chocolate and butter mixture into the egg and sugar mixture. Also add the teaspoon of vanilla extract and continue mixing.
  4. Add the flour and salt
Sift the 125 g of wheat flour and gradually add it to the previous mixture. Also add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors. Gently mix with a spatula until you obtain a smooth batter.
  5. Add the nuts (optional)
If you like brownies with a crunchy touch, you can add 50 g of chopped walnuts or almonds to the mixture. This will give it a delicious texture contrast.
  6. Bake the brownie
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Pour the mixture into a previously greased or lined baking pan. Make sure the batter is evenly distributed. Bake for 20-25 minutes, depending on your oven. The brownie should be crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. To check if it's ready, insert a toothpick in the center: it should come out slightly wet, not completely dry, to ensure that the brownie maintains its soft texture inside.
  7. Cool and serve
Once ready, remove the pan from the oven and let it cool to room temperature before cutting into portions. You can serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or simply enjoy it on its own.

And that's it! Now you have a delicious homemade brownie, perfect for any occasion.
