Conversations with God, by Neale Donald Walsch
Neale Donald Walsch wrote the book after having an accident that left him with a neck injury, without a job, without a home to live in, without family, and without money.
All the situations we see around us are based on the way we look at them, and they have been created by us in order to evolve towards a consciousness of splendor and unity. We can create the most wonderful reality that we allow ourselves to dream; it is just a matter of attitude.
This reflection heads the website of Humanity's Team in Argentina; this entity is the branch of Humanity's Team in our country, founded in the USA by Neale Donald Walsch, an American writer and author of the famous book "Conversations with God".
In that book, the author claims to have received directly from God the dictation of all its content.
Walsch wrote the book after having an accident that left him with a neck injury, without a job, without a home to live in, without family, and without money. In the midst of such misfortune, he found himself in a defeated moment and surrendered to the search for the Divine Source seeking the Truth.
Regardless of whether we believe or not in the origin of its content, whether it is from God Himself, or from the imagination, subconscious, or trance of the author, it is worth sharing some excerpts with you...
Here is a brief summary where God answers some of the questions that we all ask or have asked at some point:
"...I have established Laws in the universe that allow you to have - create - exactly what you want. These Laws cannot be violated, nor can they be ignored. You are obeying these Laws right now, even while you write this. You cannot stop complying with them, for that is how things work. You cannot stray from them; you cannot act outside of them.
Every minute of your life you have been acting within them; and thus, everything you have experienced you have created.
You form a partnership with God. We share an eternal covenant. My commitment to you is to always give you what you ask of me. Your commitment is to ask me; to understand the process of asking and granting. I have explained this process to you before. I will do it again, so that you understand it clearly.
- You are a triple being. You consist of body, mind, and spirit. You can also call it the physical, the non-physical, and the meta-physical. This is the Holy Trinity, and it has been called many things.
- Just as you are, so am I. I manifest as Three-In-One. Some of your theologians have called it Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Your psychiatrists have also recognized this triumvirate, and have called it “conscious,” “subconscious,” and “superconscious.”
- Your philosophers have called it the “id,” the “ego,” and the “superego.”
- Science calls it “energy,” “matter,” and “antimatter.”
- Poets speak of “mind,” “heart,” and “soul.”
- New Age thinkers refer to “body,” “mind,” and “spirit.”
- Your time is divided into “past,” “present,” and “future.” Could it not be the same as “subconscious,” “conscious,” and “superconscious”?
- Space is also divided into three categories: “here,” “there,” and “the in-between space.”
Defining and describing this “in-between space” is difficult, elusive. The moment you start to define or describe it, the space you describe becomes “here” or “there.” However, we know that this “in-between space” exists. It is what keeps “here” and “there” in their place; just as the eternal now keeps “before” and “after” in their place.
These three aspects of your being are, in reality, three energies. You could call them thought, word, and action. Together, they produce a result; what, in your language and according to your knowledge, is called a “feeling,” or “experience.”
Your soul (subconscious, id, spirit, past, etc.) is the total sum of all the feelings you have had (created). Your awareness of some of them is called “memory.” When you have a memory, it is referred to as re-membering. That is, putting back together. Reuniting the parts.
When you reunite all your parts, you will have re-membered Who You Really Are.
The process of creation begins with thought; an idea, concept, or mental image. Everything you see was once someone’s idea. Nothing exists in your world that has not existed before as pure thought.
This is also true regarding the universe.
Thought is the first level of creation.
Next comes the word. Everything that is said is expressed thought. It is creative and emits creative energy to the universe. Words are more dynamic (therefore, some may be more creative) than thought, since words constitute a different level of vibration than that of thought. They disturb (change, alter, affect) the universe, causing a great impact.
Words constitute the second level of creation.
Next comes action.
Actions are words in motion. Words are expressed thoughts. Thoughts are formed ideas. Ideas are gathered energies. Energies are released forces. Forces are existing elements. Elements are particles of God, portions of the Whole, the substance of everything.
The beginning is God. The end is action. Action is God creating, or God experiencing.
Your thought about yourself is that you are not good enough, not wonderful enough, not pure enough, to be a part of God, to partner with God.
You have denied Who You Are for so long that you have forgotten it.
This has not happened by chance; it is not by coincidence. It is part of a divine plan, for you could not affirm, create, or experience Who You Are if you already were. It was first necessary for you to break (deny, forget) your bond with me, in order to fully experience it through its full creation, through its emergence, since your greatest desire - and My greatest desire - was for you to experience yourself as the part of Me that you are. Thus, you are in the process of experiencing yourself by recreating yourself anew at every moment. Just as I am; through you.
Do you see the partnership? Do you understand its implications? It is a sacred collaboration; truly, a sacred communion. Thus, your life will “take off” when you decide that it will. Until now, you have not decided. You have entertained yourself, postponed it, protested. Now is the time for you to produce what was promised. To do so, you must believe the promise, and live it. You must live the promise of God.
The promise of God is that you are His child. His offspring. His likeness. His equal.
Ah!... this is where the matter gets complicated. You can accept the “His child,” “offspring,” and “likeness,” but you reject being called “His equal.” Accepting that is too much. Too great, too amazing; too much responsibility, since if you are equal to God, that means nothing is given to you, but everything is created by you.
There can no longer be victims or villains; only results of your thoughts about something.
I assure you: everything you see in your world is the result of your idea about it.
Do you want your life to “take off” really? Then, change your idea about it. About yourself. Think, act, and speak like the God that You Are. Of course, that will distance you from many - from most - of your peers. They will call you crazy. They will accuse you of blasphemy. Eventually, they will tire of you and try to crucify you.
They will act this way, not because they think you live in a world that is a product of your own illusions (most people are kind enough to allow you your private amusements), but because, sooner or later, others will be drawn to your truth, to the promises it holds for them. And it is at this moment that your peers will intervene, because it will be at this moment that you will begin to represent a threat to them, since your simple truth, simply lived, will offer more beauty, more well-being, more peace, more joy, and more love for oneself and for others than anything your earthly colleagues could devise.
And adopting that truth would mean the end of their customs. It would mean the end of hate and fear, of war and intolerance. The end of all the condemnations and murders that have been committed in My name. The end of “the law of the strongest.” The end of loyalty and homage out of fear. The end of the world as you know it; and as you have created it until now.
So be prepared, good soul; for you will be vilified and despised, insulted and abandoned, and finally you will be accused, judged, and condemned - all in their way - from the moment you accept and adopt your sacred cause: the realization of the Self.
So, why do it?
Because you have stopped caring about the acceptance or approval of the world. You have stopped being satisfied with what it has brought you. You have stopped being pleased with what it has given to others. You want the pain to cease, the suffering to end; for the illusion to finish. You are tired of this world as it currently is. You aspire to a new world. Stop aspiring to it. Now, make it arise.
Can you help me understand better how to do it?
Yes. First, look at your Highest Thought about yourself. Imagine how you would be if you lived that thought every day. Imagine what you would think, do, and say, and how you would respond to what others did or said. Do you see any difference between this projection and what you think, do, and say now?
Yes. I see a great difference.
Good. You must see it, since we know that at this moment you are not living your highest vision of yourself. Now, once you see the differences between where you are and where you want to be, start to change - consciously change - your thoughts, words, and actions, aligning them with your magnificent vision.
This will require tremendous physical and mental effort. It will involve constant, moment-to-moment control of every thought, word, and act. It will entail a continuous - and conscious - decision-making process. The whole process constitutes a huge shift towards consciousness. What you will discover if you face this challenge is that you have spent half your life unconscious. That is, consciously ignorant of what you have decided regarding thoughts, words, and acts until you have experienced their consequences; and then, when you have experienced those results, you have denied that your thoughts, words, and acts had anything to do with them. It is an invitation to abandon this unconscious life. A challenge that your soul has aspired to since the beginning of time.
That continuous mental control seems to be terribly exhausting.
It can be, until it becomes second nature. In reality, it is your second nature. Your first nature is to love unconditionally. Your second nature is to decide to express your first nature, your true nature, consciously...."
