The angel of the children
Beautiful legend dedicated to all mothers.
An ancient legend tells that a child who was about to be born said to God:
- They tell me you are going to send me to Earth tomorrow; but how will I live so small and defenseless as I am?
- Among many angels, I chose one for you, who is waiting for you: he will take care of you.
- But tell me: here in heaven, I do nothing but sing and smile, that is enough to be happy.
- Your angel will sing to you, will smile at you every day, and you will feel his love and be happy.
- And how will I understand when people talk to me, if I do not know the strange language that men speak?
- Your angel will tell you the sweetest and most tender words you can hear, and with much patience and love, he will teach you to speak.
- And what will I do when I want to talk to you?
- Your angel will bring your little hands together and will teach you to pray.
- I have heard that there are bad men on Earth, who will defend me?
- Your angel will defend you even at the cost of his own life.
- But I will always be sad because I will not see you again, Lord.
- Your angel will speak to you about Me and will show you the way to return to my presence, although I will always be by your side.
At that moment, a great peace reigned in heaven, but earthly voices could already be heard, and the eager child softly repeated:
- My God, if I am going now, tell me his name. What is my angel's name?
- His name does not matter, you will call him: MOM.
